Candy German July 2014 Review

Candy German is a subscription box that sends you great treats from Germany for only $40.00 a month.  Each Candy German box has a weight of up to 1 kg (including packaging), and every item has been tested by chief snackers Mark and Natascha – the founders of Candy German who comb through German supermarkets every month to spread candy joy.  Most of my ancestry goes back to Germany, so I was really interested in this subscription.

The Details:

Cost:  $38.89/month ($29.00 Euros)

What's in the box? Every box from Candy German you receive will be filled with quality candies picked by hand and made in Germany.  Each box will have 6-8 items.

When does the box ship?  The box ships the 15th of the month.  It may take up to 15 days to find the box.

How do I cancel?  You cancel with you account.

Candy German ships to your door from Germany, so you know your snacks will be fresh

First Look!

Katjes Back to the Roots:  Katjes is the second best known wine gum company in Germany.  Their first product was Katjes licorice kittens, thus the “back to the roots” name for this treat.  These are not made with gelatin, so the candy is soft and doesn’t get stuck in your teeth.  This is also vegan!  This was a HUGE hit with my 2 year old and husband.  I was surprised my little one loved it so much, but he gobbled it down.

Hitschler Apfel Schnüre: This is the best candy.  These are candy apple laces.  They are fun to play with and eat.  My whole family loved this and we are completely out!

Milk Choco Twist:  These are soft little cakes filled with chocolate chips.  These were really good.  They are individually wrapped to maintain freshness.  Three of these cakes are already gone and I doublt if they will last a week.  The cake is fluffy, soft and the chocolate chips add just the right sweetness.

Zentis Belnuga:  This company was a jam producer until after WWII, then they started combining marzipan and other confections like chocolate.  Belnuga has a soft nougat filling that is surrounded by marzipan and milk chocolate.  This wasn’t a favorite by our family.

Haribo MAOAM; These are individually wrapped candy chews.  These are cherry flavored and they taste great.

Kinder Joy:  Kinder Joy is part candy, part toy.  The candy has two chocolate balls with white cream.  The toy was my son's favorite part!

We received a toy from Rio2!  It was really cute.

Feodora Himbeer Smoozi: These are really tasty strawberry, chocolate and white cream cookies.  They were really soft and tasty!

Coppenrath Spritzgenuss: These are shortbread cookies dipped in dark chocolate.  These cookies are so incredibly good.  I recommend having a ice cold glass of milk nearby.

Final Thought:  This was a fantastic box.  I really loved everything in the box except for the Zentis Belnuga.  The apple candy was fantastic and I am trying to find more.  My whole family really loved this box.  If you love candy and like trying new snacks, check out Candy German HERE.
