Austin Lloyd 2-3 year old January 2014 Review

I loved my first Austin Lloyd box, so I signed up for a subscription.  You can read my first review HERE.  The toys are bpa and phthalate free and are very unique.  While I do shop at chain stores for toys, I love that Austin Lloyd includes unique toys, that are hard to find.  You will never get toys with batteries with Austin Lloyd.  The toys are also chosen to improve fine motor and cognitive skills.  Each box is designed for the play level of the child.  Austin Lloyd has a breakdown of child development on their website.  You choose the play level that fits best for you child.  Austin Lloyd has boxes from birth to age 3.

The box is $49.99 a month, but you can choose to go every other month too.  Austin Lloyd also has a donation feature.  Once you are done with the toys, and are ready to get rid of them, Austin Lloyd will send you a prepaid shipping label.  You mail the toys back, and they will donate them to their partnering charities.

Austin Lloyd 2-3 year old January

Austin Lloyd has the cutest boxes and packaging of any child/baby box.  Austin Lloyd really has attention to detail, from the cute stork sticker, to the drawings on the box.

Inside the box

When you open the box, there is a bow with a personalized tag (with your child's name), and an envelope with all the toys in the box.

Austin Lloyd First Look

I saw several musical instruments when I opened the box.  T loves music, so this made me more excited about the box.

Information Cards

Inside the envelope was cards for all the products in the box.  There was also a card about development between 2 and 3 years old.

Play Level: 2-3 years: “Music has a power that goes beyond words.  The pleasure of sharing music builds connections between parent and child as sounds and rhythms surround the child in a world of sensations and feelings,  Music also offers a joyful and rewarding learning experience and nurtures a child's imagination and creativity.

Plan Toys Tot Drum

The Plan Toys Tot Drum ($19.99) is a great toy.  It is a double sided drum.  You can twist it in your hand, and the two little stings hanging down, will bang the drum.  Your child can also hit the drum to make noise.

Haba Musical Eggs

The Haba Musical Eggs ($28.49) are hard to find online!  I actually couldn't find them for sale.  There are 5 eggs in the set and each make a different noise.  Some shake, some twist and some rattle.  T will love these!

Rattling rhythm maker

This rattling rhythm maker by Parents( $19.99) is two toys in one.  You can shake it like a tamborine or use the wooden stick to make noises along the side of the washboard.

Zin Zin Zin! A Violin

Zin Zin Zin! A Violin (7.99) is a book about how each instrument comes together until there is a whole concert.  The book has beautiful illustrations and also teaches counting.  This is a Caldecott Honor book.

Austin Lloyd

Final Thought: The total value for this box was $76.46!  I loved everything in this box!  Despite having a nice size musical instrument collection, all the toys were new to us.  I love the musical eggs.  There are so many different sounds in the box, and I have never heard of that toy before.  Austin Lloyd has the cutest packaging for their boxes.  If you are thinking of a gift for a child, this would be a great pick.   I love how Austin Lloyd goes by Play Level, so you know how the company picks their toys and that your child will have toys for their developmental level.  I love how you get more value for your money.  You can also have boxes every other month, which would work out to $25.00 a month.  I will save these toys for T's birthday!
