December Whimseybox Review and Discount

Whimseybox for December was air dry clay.  Every month, Whimseybox sends project instructions, DIY supplies, a reusable storage box,  and an original 5×7 original art print each month.  Whimseybox’s slogan is “Stop pinning, start making”.  I have friends who love Pinterest and are always making the newest and coolest crafts.  While I consider myself crafty, I never find the time to pick out a craft and go to the store to get everything.  Whimseybox sends me everything I need to create a great craft, all for $15.00!  You can't beat that, no gas, no googling, just fun.

Shipping Box

The Box

Whimseybox sends their materials in a reusable box.

The Whole Box

Whimseybox included materials to make an air dry clay bowl.  Whimseybox included a large package of clay, stick, file, cookie cutter, ribbon and directions.  There was also card to create your own calender for 2014

Instructions

Whimseybox included full color instructions.  I was a bit nervous about if I could make a clay pot, but it turned out pretty easy and fun!  Once you roll out the clay, you can press object in for designs or use cookie cutters to make shape.

Finished Bowl

I love the finished piece.  The clay is super light when it is dry.  The lace made a beautiful impression.  I am going to use this in the kitchen for my rings, when I cook.  The finger nail file was included to smooth out any rough edges.  I really didn't need to use it on the bowl.

Disney Mickey Head

I wanted to create something else and want to do something Disney related.  I tried to make a Mickey head impression, but it didn't work out.  I grabbed my Mickey cookie cutter and created a large Mickey head.  I wrote 2013, to commemorate our family vacation this year.

Mini Bowl/Dish

I still wasn't done playing with the clay, so I made a mini bowl.  I really have no idea what I will use this for, but it's cute!

Finished Projects

Air Dry Clay Badge

Whimseybox includes a badge of your completed project.  I feel like a Girl Scout again!

Final Thought: This box was so much fun.  In school, I hated art and I was never good at it.  Whimseybox makes me feel really crafty.  The projects turned out great and they were easy to do.  I also have tons of clay left, so I am going to let my boys make something.  I didn't get a chance to make the calender, but I am going to use the ribbon to create one.
