The International Wine of the Month Club Review + Coupons

Monthly Clubs has a huge selection of subscriptions. You can choose between beer, wine, cheese, cigars, flowers, chocolate, or design your own. I was sent the wine subscription for review. There are three different wine subscriptions to choose from.
The Premier Series is $34.95/month (plus $13.00 shipping) and it contains two bottle of red, white, or a mix of both. The Premier Series is their most popular subscription.
The Masters Series is $49.95/month (plus $13.00). Like the Premier Series, you choose the combination of red and white wines. The Masters contains Each month members receive one bottle from the Collectors Series and one bottle from the Premier Series.
The last subscription is The Collector's Series. The Collector's Series is $69.95/month (plus $13.00 shipping). The Collectors Series contains “extremely limited production and exclusive offerings that have not only aged nicely to date and are drinking well now, but are built to be cellared for even longer periods so they’ll take on fuller, richer, more complex expressions of their regions and grape types”.
I was sent the Premier Series for review.
The Details:
Cost: Premier Series: $34.95/month, Master Series: $49.95, and Collector's Series: $69.95.
What's in the box? Regardless of the series you choose, you will get two bottle of wine, and you can choose only red, only white, or one of each.

Do you ship to my state? Wine and Beer clubs ship to all states except Alaska, Hawaii and Utah. The International Wine of the Month Club shipped in a brown box and came by FedEx. You do have to sign for this box. If you are not going to be home that month, you can call customer service and make other arrangements.
First Look
There was a general information sheet about their subscription service.
The Cellars Notes is a publication that talks about each wine brand and the specific wine in the box.
Lieb Cellars 2013 Pinot Blanc: This domestically made wine is in a relatively new vineyard in New York. The vineyard is a part of a group that follows sustainable farming practices with crop rotation. The white wine has has flavors of lemongrass, lime zest, and rose petals. This can be pared with a variety of cuisines,specifically grilled scallops or steamed mussels.
The Cellar Notes for the Carmen Gran was much more extensive. There was a recipe for Herbed Leg of Lamb.
Carmen Gran Reserve Petite Sirah Maipo Valley 2011: This red wine has aromas of black cherry , raspberry, plum with touches of spice and vanilla. This wine is great when pared with a leg of lamb, and meaty cassoulets. Created at an older vineyard in Chile that follows sustainable farming practices as well as organic farming. C tasted this wine since he is more of red wine fan. Taking a drink of the wine he noticed there isn't much of a smell or bouquet. However, tasting the wine shows that it really didn't matter much on the smell because the taste was good for this dryish red. He thinks the higher alcohol content of this wine makes the taste better perhaps but, not completely sure.
Final Thought: The wine subscription does have some good wine. C. only opened the Carmen only, but will most likely try the Lieb since he had so much good luck with the Carmen. The indepth background on the wines along with the additional information,, like the recipes add something more to the subscription. It is really neat to have a chance to have diverse options come right to your door, for your own personal in home wine tasting.
