Purse Disperse April 2015 Review

Disclosure: This box was received free for review purposes.

Purse Disperse April 2015 Revie

Purse Disperse April 2015 Revie

Update: Since publishing this review, I have received numerous messages from people who have subscribed and not received their boxes.  The website is currently down, so I can't recommend this subscription at this time.

Purse Disperse is the first and only (that I know of), purse subscription box.  I love purses and so I was excited to review them.  Right now Purse Disperse is offering their subscription as a one-time-only box.  You can sign up until April 24 and try Purse Disperse without any further obligation. Boxes are $70.00 and each box contains a designed purse.  The first box will be sent out the third week of may.

After April 24th, one-time-only boxes will close for purchase.  On June 1st, Purse Disperse will start taking orders for their bi-monthly subscription.  Purses will ship every other month.

The Details:

Cost: $70.00/ Bi-Monthly (every other month).

What's in the box?  Each box will contain a designer purse.  Each purse is authentic and comes from the manufacturer.

Shipping: Purse Disperse ships to US, Canada and UK. If you live outside their shipping area, email them at [email protected] and they will arrange to ship your box.  Shipping is free for US and Canadian residents. Shipping costs for other countries will apply.

010

Purse Disperse shipped in a black box with the Purse Disperse logo on top.

043

The purse was packed in purple squiggles.  I didn't take a first look picture, because I did a blind unboxing.  If you want to see exactly how the purse was packaged, just watch the unboxing video at the end of the review.

081

There was a little note to me.  This box is a sample box and not the purse subscribers will receive in May.

057

The purse was packaged in a bag with a Dooney & Bourke label on the side.

048

Dooney & Bourke “Lexi Crossbody” in Navy: $73.50  on Dooney & Bourke.  I love Dooney & Bourke and it is one of the four brands of purse I buy.  I was really excited when I did my unboxing, as the value was stated as $98.00.  I was a disappointed when I found it on sale with Dooney & Bourke for $73.50 and for $68.00 on Amazon.

This is a very nice purse and it is authentic.  It is Navy and made of leather.  As a busy mom of two, I love the crossbody style. There are a few pockets inside for organization.

053

The purse had the Dooney & Bourke hags and the warranty information.

052

There is a large pocket on one side and a series of smaller pockets (for credit cards) on the other side.  There is also a strap to attach to your keys (thanks Brandy for clarifying).

045

Final Thought: At first look, I was really excited to get a Dooney & Bourke purse.  After looking up the retail price, I was disappointed that it isn't selling for more than the cost of the box.  I really wish there was a higher value for the cost of the box.  I do love my purse, so I was impressed with Purse Disperse's choice.  This is an interesting subscription and I am excited to see what subscribers get in May.  If you want to try Purse Disperse, just use this link.

I really like the concept of this subscription but if the cost of the box is more than the cost of the purse online, then I really would rather just pick a purse out myself that I know I will for sure like (although I do really like this Dooney but if it’s slightly cheaper on Amazon plus I then get the Credit Card reward points, then it doesn’t make this a good deal to me. I am gonna keep an eye on this one still as I’m curious how they are going to pull this sub off :).

  2. Michelle s, April 5, 2015:

What a letdown IMO! I Was excited about this sub but now not so after seeing the small D&B as first purse. I was thinking they would need to wow people with the first box. The value is so bad. I guess im not going to join now because I am afraid this would be sent out to everyone.

I order one time subscription to purse disperse-order was suppose to be shipped 3rd week in may — already 3 weeks later. I hope with is not a scam

I reached out to them by email, when I saw your comment. They said “Due to an issue with the brands that we are featuring, boxes have been delayed a few weeks. We are getting merchandise in a little at a time and we are shipping boxes as we get the items. Please let the customer(s) know that we appreciate their patience and we are keeping all subscribers up to date through email. As soon as we ship boxes, everyone will receive tracking information via email.”

I hope this helps. They responded the same day as my email, which is always a good sign. If you don’t hear from them, I would send them an email.

I have contacted purse disperse numerous times, but I always get the same BS story.I hope it’s not a scam because I will truly contact BBB and Consumers Affairs.

  6. Cheryl Mayers, August 11, 2015:

I’ve e-mailed them twice and have gotten the same response. This is really getting frustrating!

  7. Kim Demby, August 5, 2015:

I sent them a fb message and commented on their page that I would like a refund. I also filed a dispute with paypal that was resolved this morning in my favor. I still have not heard or seen any blogs, videos or even comments on their fb page of anyone receiving a free bag. When I sent them the fb message I had done a google search and besides the promo bags, like this one from sub box mom, I couldn’t find a single mention of anyone receiving this. I personally didn’t feel comfortable and am much happier with my refund.

  8. Cheryl Mayers, August 11, 2015:

I asked Purse Desperse on Facebook for a refund and they said they will issue one for me. I’m sorry that it didn’t work out, it may have been a good Subscription Box.

  9. Kim Demby, August 25, 2015:

Did they actually give you a refund? I received an email from paypal that the refund didn’t get processed but paypal did refund my money. I looked at their fb page and there isn’t anything updated. This was a scam.

  10. Cheryl Mayers, August 25, 2015:

No Kim, no yet, I went to their Facebook page and requested it on August 11, I’ll ASK them again today then I am going to go to the Credit Union and see what they say about a refund. I’m not sure what they will say since it was April when I paid for it but we haven’t received any goods. At this point I’m really frustrated!!

  11. Cheryl Mayers, August 26, 2015:

I went to the credit union and they couldn’t help me because it has been over 60 days, so I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. At this point I don’t know what else I can do, I want my money back!!!! What a scam!

  12. Cheryl Mayers, September 21, 2015:

Does anyone have a physical address for Purse Disperse? I have wrote to them on Facebook stating I want a refund and they said I would be receiving one – this was in August, then they said they would be sending me an e-mail and I never received one!

I didn’t use Paypal I used my credit card and the credit union can’t help me because it has been over 60 days and the BBB won’t be able to do anything because I don’t have a physical address for them, or does anyone have any other suggestions? Also, am I the only person left who hasn’t received a refund? $70 is an awful lot of money to lose for NOTHING!!

    Thank you!!!
    Cheryl
