Nerd Block arrived in a blue and white box.  I don't actually remember getting tracking information, but it might have gotten lost in my email.

023

There was a two-sided information card.  The front of the card featured the Exclusive Ghostbusters vinyl!
024

The back of the information card featured the rest of the items in the box.

031

88 MPH T Shirt:  $15.00 I am so excited to have this shirt.  Normally, all geek and gamer shirts go to my husband, but I had this one sized for me.  This shirt is from the Back to the Future movies and features all three versions of the time machine.  88 MPH is the speed needed to activate the flux capacitor.  There was also a coupon on the tag to save 10% on a shirt from ShirtPunch.com

This is a bigger look at the shirt.

Nerd Block Exclusive Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Vinyl Car $15.00 est  This is a vinyl figure of the famous Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Car.  This is especially awesome.  I am going to be a nice wife and let my husband have this for his office, even though I really want it.  If you subscribe to Horror Block, this piece will also be in the April 2015 boxes.  If you are a subscriber, you should have received an email to switch one of them out for a FUNKO vinyl.  If you missed out on Nerd Block this month, you can pick up Horror Block and get this vinyl car.

035

Pac-Man Heat Change Mug $12.40  When this mug get warn, this mug changes colors and reveals Pac-Man, Pinky and the rest of the characters.  This is really cool.  It isn't microwave safe, so putting this in the microwave to heat beverages, will be GAME OVER.

038

Tough Sh*t: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good $13.30  This book is all about Kevin Smith and stories about people who inspired him.  I am a major Kevin Smith fan, I have watched all his movies (at least the well-known ones).  My husband watches his show now, so we will both be reading.

022

Nerd Play Cosplay Trading Cards: $3.00 est Cosplay is a popular costume play where people dress up as characters from  anime, video games, movies, TV shows, and more.  I am pretty unfamilar with Cosplay, but Nerd Block is releasing a whole series of Cosplay trading cards.

This is a look at all the cards I received.

Final Thought: The total retail value of this box was around $58.70.  I was really happy with my first Nerd Block.  Even though I subscribed for me, my husband and I will both enjoy this entire box.  I am definitely going to continue my subscription.  If you want to subscribe to Nerd Block (or any of their other boxes), use this link with the code SUPERHERO to get 10% off your first box.

  1. LaLush, June 1, 2015:

Did not care for the book, not sure why it even was in their when Kevin was nothing in the 80’s, not part of the theme.

    Loved the other stuff….

    BUT

My Ecto-1 came with a crease in the middle under the front/bottom window AND the left side was tucked in wrong to were it covered up the background. Which sucks because the way its made, its supposed to be displayed in-box. Wrote NerdBlock over it. They asked for pics and sent a generic letter back of: “Thank you for the photos. All Nerd Block items are inspected and quality controlled prior to packaging. While we can appreciate the collectable nature of the products we send, there is a chance products will shift while en route to customers. We strive to package our Blocks to ensure minimal movement during shipping. Unfortunately, we can not replace items due to minimal package damage such as small creases or bends, as we cannot guarantee a new item will arrive without minimal damage due to the shipment as well.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

BUMMER!!! So my so-called collectible item isn’t in collectible or displayable condition and NO help from them. I came across an eBay seller with one of their boxes and it had a damaged Funko (torn, top right corner above front window, torn to top). Said he was contacting NB for a replacement, gave him the same run: photos please, generic letter letting you down.

So yeah, quality control is lacking with them as well as customer service. Really makes me question if I ever want to go back to them.

Best customer service I have come across so far have been by Geekfuel & Collectible Geek
