Kid Stash: June 2013

Kid Stash is a monthly subscription box for ages 3-7.  I was excited to find out about a box for older children.  Each month, Kid Stash sends a box of crafts, games, toys and books for your child.  L is 4 years old and I was excited to see his reactions to the box.  This month's theme was Entomology: the study of bugs.

The Details

What do I get? An assortment of crafts, games, toys and books
This is how my box looked (It was sealed of course)
Artzooka! Clothespin Wings Craft ($9.99)
Create your own colorful, clothespin, winged pals.  It includes everything to make 4!  L loves doing crafts and I look forward to doing this with him.
Learning Resources Giant Inflatable Insects($9.99).  This is how our insect was packaged.  It  includes string and a hook to hang it up.
We received the inflatable ant.  My son loves this and it is very detailed.  It is so detailed, that is gave my husband a good scare!  My husband C didn't know we received it, walked into a dark room and saw it.  This was worth the whole box!
“The Leaf Men” by William Joyce ($7.99)  This book is about Brave Good Bugs that March off to save the garden.  We don't have a garden, but we do have a couple tomato plants.  L loves book and will enjoy this book.
Primary Science Big Jar ($8.99)  This jar is adorable.  It hold any bug your child wants to capture.  The wings open up at the top to reveal a magnifying glass.  I am frightened of bugs, but L might get to bring in the house  1 or 2, if they are in this jar.

Final thought: I really enjoyed this box.  The total value for the box was $36.96.  This is well over the $27.99 price tag for the box.  I like how the educational concept “Entomology” was incorporated into all the items in the box.   This really helps to educate a child on the subject matter.  From a child's perceptive, my son L (age 4) thought the box was awesome and filled with lots of fun things.  I will be purchasing a Kid Stash subscription for L!Watch my youtube video HEREdisclaimer: I received this box for free but I was not compensated in any way.  All my opinions are my own.
